You’ve probably heard other parents mention it.
The summer camp where their kid came back speaking real Spanish, more confident than ever,
and actually excited about something other than their phone.
👇 This is THAT summer camp 👇
Here’s what this isn’t: A bunch of grammar worksheets in a classroom that smells like dry erase markers.
Here’s what it is: A small, focused classes taught entirely in Spanish by real native instructors, helping your teen actually use the language in conversation.
It’s not about memorizing verbs.
It’s about learning how to order food, talk to friends, and hold their own in a new country. This kind of fluency doesn’t just help them pass tests. It sticks with them for life.
Twice a week, your teen will paddle out at
Playa Tamarindo, one of the top surf spots in the world.
The water’s warm, the beach is soft, and the vibe is pure Costa Rica. No sharp rocks. No stress. Just good waves and better instructors.
It doesn’t matter if they’ve never touched a board before. Every session is about building confidence, getting outside their comfort zone, and doing something they’ll actually remember.
And yes, surf boards are included ;)

One day they’re zip-lining through the jungle.
The next, they’re hiking to a waterfall or kayaking out to a hidden beach.
Every week brings a new kind of adventure that’s a little challenging, a little thrilling, and a lot of fun.
And the best part?
It’s not just about the adrenaline. It’s about the confidence they build, the stories they bring home, and the friends they make along the way.
Once a week, your teen steps into something bigger than themselves.
Whether they’re helping protect sea turtles, planting trees, or supporting a local shelter, they’re not just learning—they’re contributing.
These projects give them a clearer view of the world and their place in it.
They teach empathy, open their eyes to different ways of life, and show what it really means to make an impact.

It’s quiet. It’s secure. And it’s the kind of place where teens settle in fast.
Just outside of town, the camp lodge gives them space to unwind between all the action.
Private pool. Open-air hangouts. Basketball and tennis. Fresh air and freedom.
There’s round-the-clock supervision, bilingual staff, and a setup that keeps things structured but never strict. They’ll feel comfortable, included, and right at home—even if it’s their first time away.
And for you? It means peace of mind from day one.
We understand. You’re not just signing your teen up for an adventure. You’re putting their well-being in someone else’s hands.
That’s a big deal. And we treat it like one.
Our camp follows a strict safety-first policy. There’s 24/7 supervision, bilingual staff trained in teen care and emergency protocols, and all activities are run by trusted, vetted local partners. No off-site trips without permission.
The lodge is gated and quiet, just outside of town, with private transportation and daily check-ins. We keep parents updated, teens supported, and the focus where it belongs: Learning, growing, and staying safe while doing it.
Because summers shouldn’t be wasted.
They shouldn’t be all screen time, boredom, or checking boxes just to “do something.”
This camp gives your teen something real. Something lasting.
They’ll learn to speak Spanish by actually speaking it.
They’ll surf, explore, and volunteer—not in theory, but for real. They’ll meet new people, step outside their comfort zone, and come home standing taller than when they left.
This isn’t just a summer away. It’s a turning point.
The kind that builds confidence, perspective, and memories that stick for life.
You don’t get many summers like this. And they don’t stay teenagers forever.

They’re young people who got a taste of something real, and it shows.
"There were plenty of activities and weekly excursions, which the kids loved."
"Our kids went to the Spanish immersion camp for 4 weeks this summer. [...] As a parent, I liked the safe compound with a pool and plenty of space, plus the fact that lunch and snacks were included, lots of tasty fresh fruits. Transportation to the camp is well organized and clearly communicated, and safety is held to high standards."

"Highly recommend ExplorNatura Spanish summer camp for kids!"
"The counselors and teachers are so kind and very good at what they do. I think the summer camp for kids is offered for almost all ages (ages 3 or 4 all the way up to 17 or 18) in June, July, & August. Our kids (ages 4 and 6) looked forward to going to camp every morning! Each day after learning Spanish they did a variety of different outdoor activities with the counselors.
The camp is very well-organized, and they really go out of their way to make parents feel comfortable and enjoy themselves. Every Tuesday they take all the kids on a field trip to places like zip lining, fincas / farms with animals, boat rides, etc. They take the kids to the beach twice a week, too, and teach them to surf. They also offer adult Spanish immersion lessons which are great! What sets this camp apart from the other camps are the people working there.
All of the staff are so patient and fun-loving with the children and seem very experienced with how to handle the kids from anything like toddler meltdowns to dietary restrictions to all the big emotions of little people.
They really go above and beyond when caring for the kids. We are so grateful we found them!"

"Highly recommend this"
"Our kids attended the camp and I the adult Spanish class. We all had a great time learning and meeting new friends.
Explornatura also planned several activities for our group, private boat excursion, surfing lessons, & great restaurant recommendations.
Communication was great and all instructors & crew were awesome. Many thanks to the camp instructors for providing a safe, comfortable, & fun experience for the kids. My 3 year old didn't want to leave. Our trip was fantastic! I highly recommend to anyone traveling to Tamarindo." - Liz S.
"My life changed forever"
"With Massi's wonderful help Miguel was able to put together a great experience that we will not forget.
Canyoning, rafting, tours, botanical gardens, hanging bridges and the beaches as well as national geographic moment watching sea turtles lay eggs.
I look forward to having you help my friends and family travel south of the border again soon."

Sending your teen abroad is a big decision, and you deserve to feel fully informed before you do. Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions parents ask us about the experience, logistics, safety, and everything in between.
Safety is our top priority. From the moment campers arrive, they’re under the care of experienced, background-checked staff trained in emergency procedures. We partner only with certified local providers for tours and activities, and we maintain a strict 24/7 supervision policy. Our accommodations are secure and monitored, and we follow a comprehensive safety-first policy that includes health check protocols and emergency response plans.
None at all. We welcome absolute beginners through advanced learners. Each camper takes a placement test on day one and is grouped with peers at a similar skill level. Classes are interactive, immersive, and designed to meet each student where they are, so everyone can grow in confidence and fluency.
Absolutely. Many of our campers are traveling internationally for the first time. We provide full guidance pre-departure, and once in Costa Rica, our staff helps every camper adjust and thrive. From airport pickup to orientation and daily routines, the entire experience is built to be smooth, safe, and empowering.
Yes! Most of our students are brand new to surfing. Lessons are taught by trained local instructors at one of the world’s top beginner-friendly beaches. With soft sand, warm waters, and no rocky hazards, it’s the perfect place to learn. Boards are included, and every session builds confidence and coordination.
Residential campers stay in our fully supervised student housing, designed for comfort and community. Rooms are clean and air-conditioned, with shared common spaces and on-site staff. Meals are freshly prepared, nutritious, and cater to dietary needs. It truly feels like a safe home away from home.
Tuition includes 20 hours of Spanish classes per week, all activity fees (surfing, adventure tours, volunteering), airport transfers, supervision, and materials. For residential campers, housing and meals are also included. Optional extras like additional surf sessions or weekend excursions may be offered but are clearly listed and never required.
Campers are never left unsupervised. Our staff lives on-site with students and is present throughout all meals, downtime, and transitions. Whether they’re relaxing at the pool, journaling, or exploring in a small group, there’s always an adult present to ensure safety and support.
We encourage daily journaling and weekly parent updates. Teens will have designated times when they can access Wi-Fi to message or call home. Parents also have a direct line to program leaders in case of urgent communication.
We have access to top-rated medical clinics and hospitals nearby and staff trained in first aid. If your teen needs medical care, we will notify you immediately and accompany them through every step of the process. We also strongly recommend that all campers have international travel insurance.
Beyond language fluency, campers return more independent, more confident, and with a new global perspective. They form deep friendships, overcome personal challenges, and build life skills that stay with them long after summer ends. Many parents tell us this is the program that truly changed their teen’s path.
There’s still time to give your teen something that’s more than just a camp.
This is the kind of summer that builds fluency, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the world. It’s the growth that happens when learning feels alive, and the impact lasts long after they return home.
Real progress in Spanish through full immersion and daily conversation.
Life experiences that build confidence, purpose, and independence.
A global perspective shaped by culture, adventure, and connection.
Spots are limited, and the first camp begins soon. Don’t wait to give them an experience that will stay with them for life.
